The USGS Gages record water quality data at specific locations so that they can be monitored and the data can be used in research projects. There are two gages near the Ross Island Lagoon, the Morrison St. Bridge and the Holgate Channel gages. Both gages are located north of the lagoon. You can see the live data from USGS for both gages here:
