Job Application Experience

The job application experience overall has gone pretty well for me. The most recent job application I have done was for my current position as assistant operational support. The application process what pretty straightforward and was done through a link. It asked for normal application materials such as a resume, cover letter, recommendations, how you heard about the position, and educational background. It was pretty easy to do as I had all of that ready beforehand. An irritating part about the application process for me was that I was told my application didn’t go through about two weeks after applying. Luckily in this case I knew the hiring manager and they let me know that they have not received it yet due to knowing I was going to apply. They apologized and worked with me to make sure they received it. It was a little irritating that I had to fill out the application multiple times as I could have missed out on the opportunity due to an error on their side. In most cases, I would have never known that it didn’t go through. A learning lesson for that is it is important to follow up and make sure they received the application. I knew I wanted to work there and had a good understanding before the application process that it may take a little to hear back due to it being the middle of the busy season. I think if I wasn’t in the industry I would have been a little annoyed that it took a while to hear back.
