Blog Post #3

Hello CS461! Update on the course’s project so far: it is going great still and I am excited to continue working on it into next term. We have been continuing to meet with our sponsor Dr. Chris Patton on a weekly basis over Discord and learning more about the project each session. As the project develops, we learn more about the software being utilized and the software development process. The biggest setback recently has been getting used to using Rust and the Bevy engine to make bigger and bigger environments. It can be difficult at times to learn a new technology, but it is worth the work. It’s very exciting to start seeing the project come to life as we work on it.

I am currently starting to search for a Software Engineering role for this Spring/Summer as I get closer to graduate from Oregon State in June. I am looking for entry level software engineer and web design roles in San Diego, Los Angeles, Austin, or San Jose. So far I haven’t heard much back, but I am excited for the possibility of finding a new software engineering role as a leave university.
