I’ve been pretty swamped with both my classes for the last week or so and I decided today that I needed to take a well-earned break and do something non-school-related to clear my mind, so I took a run down to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) on the east side of Portland to check out the “15 Years of LAIKA” exhibit.
LAIKA Studios is an animation studio in Oregon that produces stop-motion animation movies, such as “The Boxtrolls”, “Coraline”, and “Kubo and the Two Strings”.
The pop-up exhibit displays many of the puppets and sets used during production of their movies, and describes much of their creative processes, as well as artistic and technical innovations they’ve developed.
If you’re in town, I highly recommend checking it out, it runs through November 28, 2021 and is well worth the trip.
Below is a link to the exhibit website to learn more and reserve tickets, as they’re required in advance.
