Job Application Experiences

Applying for jobs is honestly one of the hardest things to do while going to college. Applying over and over again repeating the same information only most of the time to not even receive a callback. In my experience, you don’t really get jobs though applying it is usually sending a quick email that includes your resume to someone who was a friend of a friend.

The last job I applied for was a baseball operations fellowship with the Atlanta Braves. Personally, this is a very daunting experience because I want the position very badly but while applying there is always a lot of doubt in my mind that I am even qualified for the position. I also wonder why they would want me over thousands of other people who are in the same position. However, I keep putting myself up for positions that I may have doubts about because I firmly believe that trying and failing is better than never trying at all. I have learned this because there have been several occasions that I have thought that there is no way I could even be considered but have turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.

By applying for a job that I didn’t think I was even remotely qualified for I found out what my passion was and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Sometimes the biggest leaps are the ones that make all the difference in a person’s life. That is why taking risks is essential if you ever want to make something big.
