    • We are investigating if short term goal setting in college courses (in the SMART goal design) will give students a greater sense of efficacy and valuing of their courses.

    • In this study we are concerned with how a growth mindset can influence other beneficial motivation mindsets such as mindfulness, which may indirectly influence the experience of imposter syndrome.

    • In this study, college students from around the U.S. were asked to report on their experiences of burnout and basic need fulfillment as defined by Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 2002).

  • The Effectiveness of a Utility Value Intervention in Psychological Statistics and Research Methods Courses
    • In this study, we are investigating whether a brief utility value intervention improves students’ motivation and performance in traditionally difficult courses like stats and methods.

  • The Experience of Non-Majority Students Motivation and Cost in a First-Year Physics Course
    • This study looked at the experience of underrepresented ethnic and gender groups and their perceptions of cost in a majority white, cis-gendered male dominated field such as physics. Specifically experiences of emotional cost and task effort cost were the focus of this analysis.
