Introductions

Welcome to my blog post! Ever since deciding to switch career paths and applying to OSU’s post-baccalaureate CS program, I have had a string of novel, first-time experiences, and writing this blog is no exception. Before this decision to pursue a degree in it, I had never put much thought towards computer science, so pretty much everything has been new. I have learned so much in the last few years, and I can’t believe that this part of my transition into a new career is almost over. Being this close to the finish line, I would be much more anxious had I not experienced my first internship, which began five weeks ago at Garmin. This almost didn’t happen, as I had unsuccessfully applied for a summer internship there last fall. As fate would have it, I decided to reach out again, and managed to land an open ended internship which began shortly after the end of my summer OSU term. This internship, which will be ongoing while I finish my last term, has helped me to not be so anxious about the upcoming transition from learning/education to working in the industry. I’m hoping to receive a job offer after I graduate in December, but regardless of whether or not I do, I feel much more prepared to start my new career. Although the string of new, first-time experiences may slow down, it will probably continue indefinitely, and this is one of the things I love about computer science and my future career as a software developer: I’ll never stop learning!
