Project Status Report #2

Hello, and welcome back to the blog! Today, I would like to provide an update on how things are proceeding in regards to my group’s project. As a reminder, we are hard at work designing a web app that aims to provide animal shelters with a way to connect to prospective new owners.

This sprint we were able to create a working News Feed, search form, and much more. Below, you will see some teaser screenshots of the new changes with a caption describing them!

News Feed

Updated, working News Feed that displays new posts from the admin(s).

Search Form

Updated, working Search Form. Displays all current animals in the shelter. May be filtered to narrow results.

Admin Dashboard – Animals

Admin Dashboard updated to perform all CRUD operations on shelter animals in the database!

Admin Dashboard – News Stories

Admin Dashboard updated to perform all CRUD operations on news stories in the database!

We have also managed to implement login authentication. Although, we still have some fine tuning to perform, it is on a somewhat functional level now as we are able to register accounts and sign in with them afterward. We still need to figure out what process we want to take for registering admin accounts, and whether or not there will be a default admin account to begin with.

So, as you can tell, the web app is coming together. The functionality is mostly in place, and aside from some minor tweaking and a bunch of testing, we are closing in on the finish line! Please keep an eye on the blog for the next status update, which very well may be the finished product! Thanks again for reading and see you next time!
