College Welcomes Abby Floeter Back to Campus

As a recent graduate from the Class of 2013, Dr. Abby Floeter came back to campus armed with plenty of advice for the incoming P1 students.  Abby graciously shared her insights as the featured speaker at the White Coat Ceremony, which took place on October 3, 2013.  Abby, currently in a pretegious PGY1 residency at the University of California – San Francisco, left the Class of 2017 with three key points: take pride and ownership in your work as a student pharmacist, become a lifelong learner and prioritize patient care.  She also reminded them to have fun along the way and to remember to thank their family and friends for supporting them.
While on campus, Abby was involved with filming a marketing video that will be used in for recruitment of new students to the PharmD program.  She also sat down with Executive Associate Dean Dr. Gary DeLander and the students involved with OSSP to offer advice on how to better the group and increase residency opportunities for graduating students.
On her visit Abby brought pictures of herself and other OSU graduates together in San Francisco.  One such event was a Game Watch with “Bay Area Beavers”, a group she was able to find on Facebook.  The photo was taken with other OSU Alumni at the Elixir Bar during the first Beavers game of the season. The gatherings continue for all games throughout the season. Pictured in this photo are (from left to right): Lauren Miyake (Chapman University alum), Jeff Walther (OSU alum), Sarah Gregg (‘13), Brad Gregg (OSU Business alum), and Abby Floeter.
Abby and other College of Pharmacy alumni have also had the opportunity to visit the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Abby described the Academy as “San Francisco’s equivalent to [Portland’s] OMSI.” Pictured in the photo showing their OSU pride, are (from left to right): Abby Floeter , Fides Lim, and Sarah Gregg, all from the Class of 2013.
