7 weeks Done – What’s Going On?

Another two weeks have passed since my last blog post. In that time, I finished the initial set of 31 model functions for Creating Reading Updating and Deleting Projects, Tasks, User’s and Entries for the project. After taking stock of what I’ve created, I went back and created another 4 model functions, to cover some of the more complicated aspects of the application such as getting subtasks of subtasks for the application. As a team, we’ve each been working on our own parts of the application. At this point, I’m focused on designing some tests for the database to add to GitHub. The functions work as expected in the initial testing I completed while developing them, but I wanted to add some documented tests of the database to GitHub that the team can use as needed.

We haven’t gone as far with testing as a group as I had thought; my teammates need some additional time this weekend to work through the integration for the front end and back end. I expect that there will be some changes in the functions needed for interacting with the database in the next week or so, once the more of the integration work between front end and back end is completed. I’ll also be making some updates to improve the documentation for these 35 model functions, to make them more presentable and ready for our final project archive.

A special note of thanks: Friday in the United States is Veteran’s Day. Thank you to all our past and present service members whose sacrifices make freedom possible for so many. From one veteran to so many others, thank you for your service.
