This week, my assignment was focused on creating a lesson plan for the Optron Mini. After finally figuring out how to connect the Optron Mini to FL Studio on Windows as a MIDI instrument, I wanted to create content to show others how to set it all up. This became the basis of my lesson plan.
I also had to make some “sheet music” for the Optron Mini, so I decided to bring it all together on my lesson plan. In my lesson plan, the students will get to learn how to connect the Optron Mini to a digital audio workstation, such as FL Studio, then try playing music on it. This is still a draft, but I feel it is a lot more put together than my last.
The process of making the lesson plan was fairly enjoyable, and I wanted to have it be all original, and be able to stand by itself and still be understandable to a young audience. Included in the lesson plan are download links, videos, screenshots, and sheet music all in step-by-step order. All the resources used are free except a computer and the Optron Mini, so the lesson is realistic in what students will have available. I have attached the document below.
