Poster Presentation
On May 16th, 2024, I participated in OSU’s Spring Poster Symposium. According to the Office of Undergraduate Research, around 300 students presented research, mentored by about 150 OSU faculty members. 1300 community members attended the event. This was my first experience ever presenting research. It was definitely positive, although it did also show me that I have lots of room to grow in these sorts of situations. The Symposium was set up where community members would wander and then when they stop at a poster, the presenter of that poster would give a short presentation on their research. I think that a really effective aspect of my presentation was that I actually had a databot at the symposium to give a live demonstration. Because the lesson is supposed to be accessible, giving a live demonstration of using all of the technology on the spot is a good way to show how easily accessible the lesson is.
