The quarter is definitely starting to feel like it’s picking up speed now! I was honestly pretty surprised to see that the midpoint is already next week (Feb. 7). Man that felt really quick.
Our team has finally fleshed out our database design by going over it in our previous team meeting. We decided to reduce the amount of attributes required since we realized that we were adding more items than necessary, and we wanted to follow the project requirements more strictly before doing any stretch work.
Firebase/Firestore is still fairly new to our whole team, so this week is primarily going to be used for playing around with the database and seeing how we can interact with it from our mobile app to display data etc… Since our user registration part hasn’t been fully set up, we are simply allowing our database to freely interact with our Firebase calls just so that we can get experience with accessing the data and displaying it on the screens.
It’s been really exciting to learn more about Flutter/Dart, and to be quite honest, I’m really really enjoying the Flutter SDk. It just feels simple and intuitive when writing in it.
I’m not sure how prevalent Flutter developer jobs are at the moment, but if I could get an internship/new grad job that utilizes Flutter, I think that would be super exciting!
