Last term at OSU, here we go! I’m coming into this final term having just finished an internship with Cvent, working hybrid out of their Portland office. The next few months will be spent job searching, and working on whatever Capstone project gets thrown my way!
All of my larger personal projects so far have involved Python, and recently FastAPI in particular, but I’m hoping to branch out during this course. I do have a team in mind, and we have our eyes on the Escape Room project (but will be excited to work on whatever is assigned to us). None of us have worked with a 3D engine before, but we are thrilled at the prospect of it and are doing some preliminary reading about Unity and Godot.
The Escape Room project stood out to us because of being able to work with a 3D engine, but also because of the flexibility it would offer. Very little was strictly laid out on the project page, and additional rooms could “easily” be added. There were others that stood out to us too, like the Tribal Casino app and the Fishing app.
My journey at OSU began about two years ago, as I became serious about moving away from a career in music and desiring a more stable position. It has been a good road so far, and I’m looking forward to working on a large project this term.
