I have always found that during interviews it always is stressful but in my experience with the Navy I got used to board sitting. I find a calm but excited feeling has worked for me. Thinking about older interviews I kind of realized it wasn’t very above board. I realize some of the questions weren’t as work centered as someone would hope for especially when I was asked my favorite superhero. I realize that the other questions that were work related were centered around “what would you do if ______” were obviously the stronger questions. If I could go back to the interview for that restaurant I would advise them that they should be asking more pertinent to the workplace problems.
In another interview I was asked from a list of questions that were suitable and honestly that was probably the most reasonable. This was for an internship and it was put together because it was from the county. I honestly couldn’t complain because it was so up to code. It was so easy for them to avoid all legal issues.
Another interview I had I realize now was kind of ridiculous. When I got out of the Navy I worked with an Anytime Fitness and I realize now it was professionally done. If I could give them advice though? I would now insist they ask more work related questions. It seemed at the time they cared less about me being a good personal trainer and more like a salesman which pushed me out inevitably with that lack of a good job description. Overall I would say my experience seem to vary.
