Oregon State University Extension Fire Program
The OSU Extension Fire Program supports communities across Oregon to find pathways to adapt to living with fire. In Southwest Oregon, Extension Fire Specialist Chris Adlam provides education and technical assistance to build collective action for fire and land management. The Extension Fire Program will be offering the CBM course and helping organize the hands-on trainings.
Rogue Valley Prescribed Burn Association
The Rogue Valley Prescribed Burn Association fosters community safety and preparedness, ecological land stewardship, and resilient ecosystems by educating and training community members in the use of prescribed burning. The RVPBA helps landowners to plan and implement burns by coordinating volunteers, equipment and providing expertise. The training burns taking place on private lands as part of IGNITE are organized by the PBA. Landowners interested in hosting a burn are invited to fill out the “burn host” form on the RVPBA’s website.
Oregon Department of Forestry
The Oregon Department of Forestry is the state’s fire suppression agency covering private lands. ODF is also the regulatory agency that issues permits for prescribed burning, and is responsible for the Certified Burn Manager Program. ODF provides grant funding and equipment in support of the IGNITE trainings.
