The stress tests provided insight into certain areas I can improve on in terms of better stress management, however for the most part they showed that I am well versed at dealing with stress and stressful situations. Although, after taking the life stressor inventory I found that I am currently lucky enough to have a relatively low amount of life change and low susceptibility to stress-induced health breakdown. So, while my stress scores came out well on the tests, I also currently have less stress inducing situations in my life right now. Despite this the tests still showed that there are areas where I can improve on such as increasing my coping mechanisms when facing minor time rush inconveniences. Improving these skills now can be crucial in helping to reduce my stress levels when stressful times do arise.
Organizations are taking several approaches to help employees cope with stress or reduce stress overall. Some companies are implementing their own policies and programs to support employee wellbeing, investing in proven ways to help their employees deal with their own stress. These can be things such as providing counselling services or implementing policies, where managers should avoid and encourage certain behavior, encouraging a more development environment. Additionally, some are helping to develop their managers to be more personally involved in their employee interactions and well being and some are limiting the amount of work outside of the office, in order to assist with burnout. In conclusion, organizations are taking a variety of approaches to help alleviate employees stress.
