Floodplains as nature-based solutions for water quality

Protecting, maintaining, and improving the capacity of watersheds to provide clean drinking water, productive fish habitats, and other ecosystem services will require consideration of both built and natural infrastructure. This project focuses on drinking water security and resilience of human infrastructure by investigating the impact of different configurations of floodplain reconnection projects on watershed processes and ecosystem services. How and where should society invest in developing green infrastructure in the form of reconnected floodplains?
