This project was developed to introduce students to the potential of wave energy to power Oregon’s future. This project was developed in conjunction with the Science and Math Investigative Learning Experiences (SMILE) and the Pacific Marine Energy Center.
Our objectives are that students will learn to use scientific and engineering approaches to problem-solving. Be able to describe how waves can be used for energy, and how different devices can be used for different ocean environments. Finally, students will be able to identify ways to change device design to be more economically feasible. All by designing and testing their own wave energy device.
This website was set up to give students, educators, and parents the tools and resources that they need to design and test their very own wave energy device.
Happy learning!
