Oregon State University is selling five structures, three of which are historic, including three houses, a garage and a shed.

All structures are being sold separately, under a sealed bid auction. The sales do not include the land and all structures must be removed from OSU property at the buyer’s expense, following OSU House Removal Agreement and Historic District Guidelines.

The structures include the former Black Cultural Center, a 1,835-square foot, two-story house; and the former Native American Longhouse, a 1,500-square foot Quonset hut building, both of which must be removed from OSU property by March 22, 2013. Bidding starts at $100 for each. New cultural centers are being built to replace these structures.

The third structure is a 765-square foot single story house formerly occupied by GCA custodial services. It must be removed by Dec. 30 and bids start at $100.

Also for sale is a historic 540-square foot garage and a shed, both of which must be removed from OSU property by Dec. 30 and require a minimum bid of $50 each.

“As part of our commitment to sustainability we attempt to relocate houses prior to deconstruction,” said Nicole Neuschwander, real property manager for OSU. “Our goal is to reuse whenever possible.”

Bids are accepted through Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. Because this is a sealed bid auction, no bids are made public and the person with the highest bid will win. More information about the structures can be found online at http://tiny.cc/s80omw, which is also where bids can be submitted.
