Campus Recycling got two great pieces of news from the OSU Finance and Admin BBQ yesterday:
1) Award-Winning Staff!
Firstly, our student outreach assistant Lindsey Almarode won the Outstanding Student award in all of Finance and Admin at OSU! The award goes to a student who “demonstrates commitment to excellence in achieving his/her unit’s goals. This person demonstrates initiative, promotes interaction, has attention to detail, is reliable and promotes diversity.” The award came with a certificate and $100. Congrats Lindsey!
Lindsey promotes recycling and waste reduction at OSU by coordinating department compost requests and working on presentations, signage, tabling and events. And she is indeed outstanding!
2) Nearly Zero Waste!
Once again Finance and Admin staff stepped up to cover our recycling station, at which we collected commingled recycling, compost, special plastics and true trash.
This year we diverted 92% of the waste from the landfill – 300 gallons!
Thank you to our staff and employees in the Finance and Admin division for their participation!

If only all students have the initiative as what Lindsay have then waste management won’t be a problem at all.
Lets go GREEN!
