To help meet its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, as well as provide support for increasingly complex research and teaching space, OSU is recruiting for two heating and cooling controls technicians.  These positions help manage the energy demand on OSU’s Corvallis campus and have a large influence on the efficiency and performance of building systems.  Duties include monitoring, installing, and adjusting heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control systems and corrective work on existing HVAC systems to maintain and improve efficiency.  

Required qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school (two-year program) in heating and air-conditioning and two years of full-time experience installing, altering, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining HVAC control systems and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems. Two additional years of qualifying experience may be substituted for the two years of education.

Preferred (special) qualifications:

• Possess a Limited-Maintenance Electrician’s license at the time of hire.
• Experience in automated building control systems by Alerton, Siemens, or Jonson Controls.
• A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
