Oregon State University is currently recruiting for a full-time building management system (BMS) network analyst to improve the energy efficiency of OSU buildings and help implement the university’s ambitious decarbonization plan. Position duties include:

  • implementing BMS improvements like tuning, scheduling and changes in sequencing
  • assisting in preparing requests for proposals, cost estimates, justifications, policy and procedures
  • researching available products/systems/configurations and recommending alternatives to meet energy efficiency and maintenance needs
  • tracking effectiveness of building energy efficiency improvements.

From 2010-2020, during 10 years of growth, OSU achieved carbon emissions reductions of 18% with modest financial investment and a suite of systemic changes. When accounting for growth, that equates to a 39% reduction in emissions per student and 47% reduction in emissions per square foot of building space. Now, we prepare to accelerate our path to carbon neutrality.

Facilities Services teams construct, protect, repair, maintain, and preserve the physical facilities and utility systems of the University. They provide timely, cost effective, and professional services that enhance the instructional, research, and service goals of the University. Ideal candidates will have strong skillsets to perform BMS schedule adjustments and programming, mechanical system troubleshooting, energy efficiency improvement, and more.

OSU’s commitment to carbon emissions reduction and new plans to invest in efficient infrastructure make this an excellent and exciting time to do this work for OSU!  This is a full time position with excellent benefits located in Corvallis, Oregon.  See the full position description and application details here. Closing date is February 27, 2022, with an anticipated appointment begin date of April 1.
