Ready for some awesome multimedia art to start off the new year? Well here’s your chance!
DJ Spooky, AKA author,composer, and multimedia artist Paul D. Miller has composed a “Forest Symphony” based on his four seasonal residencies at the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest. He will be presenting his art in a multimedia presentation Thursday, January 14th from 1-3 pm with a reception from 3-4 pm. Both will be held in Benton Hall 303.
Within his presentation, Miller will talk with musician / composer Dana Reason about his composition process, incorporating electronics and multimedia elements, and his experience in composing the “Forest Symphony.”
Miller is known for his genre-bending art, vast catalogue of music and work in social justice. He is the author of Book of Ice, a multimedia, multidisciplinary study of Antarctica that contemplates climate change and humanity’s relationship with the natural world, as well as Rebirth of a Nation, performed by the Kronos Quartet.
