As mentioned in a post earlier, Corvallis is currently competing for the $5 million Georgetown University Energy Prize. In order to help spread the word about reducing the community’s energy usage, the Corvallis Environmental Center is looking for Public Outreach interns.
The position involves tasks such as going door-to-door and tabling at community events.
The internship will begin Tuesday Sept. 8th and go on until Wednesday Sept. 23rd. Interns are expected to volunteer between 30 and 40 hours per week and complete a total of 90 hours in 2 and a half weeks. Interns will also attend trainings and weekly meetings to solidify their understanding of Energize Corvallis programs.
Main duties of interns will include discussing energy efficiency and conservation with community members, helping Corvallis residents register for Take Charge Corvallis, entering data into an online database, and distributing promotional materials.
For priority consideration, applications should be submitted by midnight on August 24th. The final deadline for all application will be midnight on September 1st.
