A few spaces remain in the 2012 Master Recycler class offered by OSU Campus Recycling and Allied Waste. The 2012 class will be held Wednesdays, January 11th through February 29th, 6:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Furman Hall 101 (on the OSU Corvallis campus, on 15th St. near Jefferson Ave.).

The class is free to residents of Linn and Benton County who agree to “payback” what they learned through 30 hours of volunteer service after completion of the course. The class will explore landfill science, recycling, waste reduction, reuse opportunities, composting, community sustainability, green building, hazardous waste and taking action.

More info, including the registration form and class schedule, can be found on the Master Recyclers webpage of Campus Recycling’s website.

Think you might be a good fit? If you answer yes to any one of these questions, this class may be for you!

  1. Am I known by some as “the recycling police?”
  2. Do I shudder at the thought of throwing away something perfectly reusable or recyclable?
  3. Do I enjoy volunteering for the environment?
  4. Have I ever wanted a better understanding of what I can recycle and what I cannot?
