The results are in for this year’s donation drive, held annually while students move out of their residence halls.
This year we collected 17,558 lbs of donations – 1.5 times as much as in 2010!
In comparison to 2010, we collected:
- ~3,000 lbs of wood (same as last year)
- 5,736 lbs of clothing, shoes and linens (small increase – 474 lbs more)
- 1,913 lbs of food, toiletries, and school supplies (2.2 times more)
- 6,909 lbs of house wares (2.7 times more)
This is fantastic news for our area nonprofits, those in our community who are in need, and the environment.
Thank you to our incredible volunteers who put in 71 hours of work (2.5 times more than last year), dedicated Campus Recycling and UHDS staff who put in countless hours of their own, and our student residents who made it all possible!
