Interested in composting your food waste but don’t know how to get started? Don’t have a lot of space or lack a yard? The Student Sustainability Initiative (SSI) is offering a workshop to get you started.

SSI is hosting a worm compost bin workshop Monday, November 8th, at 5:00 pm at the Student Sustainability Center (738 SW 15th St, Corvallis).

Learn ways to implement a small scale composting system for your your living space. We’ll explore the topic of vermiculture (using worms for composting) and talk about ways that you can use your compost. This is a hands-on workshop; attendees will build and take home their own mini compost bin. No charge for students.

This is the first in a new series of fun and educational workshops related to sustainability that will be offered throughout the year by the SSI. Contact Dani Mazzotta at ssi.partnerships[at]oregonstate.edu for more details.Compost
