As we begin our Capstone project, there is a sense of nerves, a feeling of the unknown, and excitement. Maybe for some of us, there is a reality hit that we are taking everything we understood and applying it to a big project that we can proudly show off. This is the excitement that I feel when approaching this capstone project. A project that is not just out of personal interest, but is supported by an industry advisor. They are able to not only give advice to us, but they are able to introduce us to our new technology and ideas that some current classes are not covering. This will be the start of a new adventure that will hopefully translate for many of us when we transition to new jobs or positions.
When taking on a new project there is a feeling that we always have to start from the beginning. This gives me at an opportunity to enforce my understanding of the basics. This will help in the future when it will become second nature.
Looking Ahead
Looking into the future I think the biggest challenge and enjoyment is the research of new concepts. I believe that CS is in a unique position that even after college the learning does not stop. We continue to learn from our mistakes and are able to build from that and hopefully come out with a better product. This capstone project is a good example. It also gives the opportunity to work with fellow students who maybe in the a similar situation of facing an unfamiliar area together.
