I am a Master of Natural Resource student at Oregon State University focusing on wildlife and their habitat.
My Master’s capstone project is looking at Pacific marten distribution in relation to the human footprint at two national parks and the surrounding national forests. The question I wish to answer is: does the presence and use of roads, trails, campgrounds and administrative buildings impact the likelihood of detecting Pacific marten?
After working for eight years as a Park Ranger focusing on Interpretation, I went back to school full-time so I could work more closely with ecosystems. My goal after graduation is to work in field ecology focusing on wildlife and their habitats. Before working in parks, I worked a variety of natural resource positions including wildlife surveys, habitat surveys, forest ecology surveys, wetland and water delineation, and restoration.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature and adventuring.
