The team is formed!

Fortunately, forming my group was pretty easy. I posted in the the optional discussion page introducing myself and ended up with two comparable group members. Overall, we have similar personalities. We all want to contribute and create good final project without being controlling. We decided we wanted to do the Paw Parks sponsored project and chose it to be our number one choice. Luckily we got it!

It looks and feels like we are getting off to a good start. We have the general schematics of how we want our app to run. We are creating the app with Flutter for our front-end, python for out back-end, and using web-services such as Firebase and Google Maps. Although the project seems daunting-we don’t have any experience creating mobile apps-the project is moving quite smoothly.

One of the new technologies we are utilizing is Google Firebase. I actually did not know anything about this prior to my group members mentioning it as an option for our project. Setting it up was quite easy but the syntax and getting it integrated into our project seem slightly daunting.

On the other hand, it is such a great resource if you are running a website, web-application, or mobile-app. There are so many sub-services. It can host instant-messaging for your apps. You can utilize its no-SQL database. I was specifically afraid of databases after taking Intro to Databases. Learning how to set-up the database by loading tables and commands and then writing a back-end for a website to communicate with it was scarring. Firebase also has a very in-depth authentication service that allows login and security to be very simple to implement.

Overall, I have happy that my team members are great and that we are making progress in our Capstone project!
