Work-Related Stress

Taking the following tests I learned a lot about how I personally deal with my stress and how I deal with potential stresses in my life. I mainly relearned that the majority of the time I present myself with warmth and tolerance when it comes to relationships and everyday situations. I give others the benefit of the doubt and give people chances, however, I have the intuition not to trust certain people with specific things. I also noticed that I cope with stress related to problems that are fixable very well. I take the time to think about what is needed to be done to solve problems without being immediately reactive, ultimately reducing the chances of any escalation of the current problem at hand. The Coping and Stress Management test stated that I use problem-focused strategies, which is good, however, it isn’t the best strategy for coping with stress related to problems that are not solvable.

Organizations are mainly concerned about health conditions related to work-related stress. Work-related stress can cause workers to have trouble sleeping, high blood pressure, and overall fatigue. Organizations are working toward reducing the amount of work-related stress by providing on-site counseling, allowing more flexible working hours, and changing the overall habitat of the workplace. It is important for organizations to prioritize minimizing work-related stress since workers will perform better and will experience less work-related stress health problems.
