After taking all the tests, the one that I found interesting was the “Take the Life Stress Inventory”. My score was 164 points which meant that I have a 50% chance of a major health breakdown in the next 2 years. I do believe with the age I am at there is a high chance of that happening and I am prepared as much as I can for sudden changes. My mindset of that changed recently after getting out of a 3 year relationship and realizing that life happens and things can change in a blink of an eye. Reading through the different topics did help me understand or at least rethink some of the things that have occurred in my past which I thought was a healthy way of being able to look back and remember everything I have been through. I think taking these types of tests actually is a way in which you can help recognize your stress or maybe where it might be coming from. I also learned based on the other two tests that I am a fast reactor to sudden life changes.A few ways I cope from stress is by being active like playing sports, cooking, or even listening to music.
Some steps I can take to progress through my career is use the provided resources my work offers me. It is 5 therapy sessions a month and I think attending those would help me get everything out and get more advice on the current things stressing me out which would cause me to have healthy habits and a more positive mindset when life obstacles hit me. Like I mentioned before, my current job helps manage employees stress by providing different resources to help cope with stress. The article I was looking at stated, “manager training for mental health, which helps managers recognize and respond to supervisees experiencing emotional distress” which was just one of the many things they listed on mental health and stress and listed how to recognize it and also gave some suggestions on how to help prevent it.
