Compensation!

One time when I engaged in a particular behavior due to compensation was when I recently quit my job. I worked on campus at the gym, where my list of responsibilities included folding towels, typing in student ID numbers, cleaning down exercise equipment, and more. As many of you probably know, Oregon State pays student employees only once per month and at minimum wage. Getting paid once a month as opposed to every two weeks was frustrating for me, and contributed to me retiring from the position. Especially considering I am nearing graduation, I do not plan on working a minimum wage job much longer anyways, and I am now seeking a job in which I can get paid more frequently, and potentially make a higher wage and/or tips. Financial compensation was just one of several factors that led me to my decision. I think it was one of my leading factors because financial compensation was the main reason for me accepting the job in the first place. Once I did not enjoy the job enough for how much I was getting compensated, it was not in my personal favor to keep working there. Compensation works hand in hand with toleration; I am only able to tolerate a certain amount, which scales with compensation.
