The Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) announced that it will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a third-year veterinary student at each of the 33 accredited North American veterinary colleges. Additionally, students will receive complimentary registration including travel and daily stipend to attend the 2012 Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, Nev., February 19-23.
Sami Pederson, class of 2013, was selected by the OSU CVM Scholarship Committee for her scholastic aptitude, financial need and her potential to assume leadership roles later in her career.
In response, Sami commented, “As a third year student, I’m thrilled and honored to be selected as an attendee for this years’ Western Veterinary Conference. Involvement in OSU CVM organizations such as the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), Zoo, Wildlife and Exotics (ZWE), Ag Animal, and International Veterinary Student Association (IVSA) has shown me the diverse levels of care and services available to animals in our own country and others. This opportunity for lectures, labs, and networking will greatly augment my interest in leadership and desire to make positive and sustainable impacts in the veterinary world.”
Congratulations, Sami!
