First Generation: Translating Life vs. Work Experiences
First-Gen students, please join our Career Development Center on Thursday, November 7 either from 1-2 PM at Hallie Ford Center 115 or from 5-6 PM via Zoom to learn how to maximize your unique challenges and strengths–which employers will value–in your resume, cover letter, personal statement, and on LinkedIn. You have the skills and competencies; this workshop will help you make sure employers know.

Virtual Public Health PhD Program Info Session
Thinking about a doctorate in the wonderfully interdisciplinary field of Public Health? If so, feel free to register for this online info session on Thursday, November 7 from 4-5 PM. Public Health faculty and graduate students will be present, so come prepared with questions!

Get to Know Your Peer Ambassador

Sometimes, we spotlight a COH Advisor or Peer Ambassador, so you can get to know the people behind the desks at the Office of Student Success. This week, we’re pleased to introduce Peer Ambassador and new AMP-MPH graduate student, Ryan Krivens (she/her).

What’s your favorite song? – “Silver Springs (Live at Warner Bros. Studios)” by Fleetwood Mac
What’s your favorite film?10 Things I Hate About You
What’s your favorite restaurant in Corvallis? – Papuseria de Valle
What’s a strange food combo you like? – I like to put mayo on the outside of grilled cheese sandwiches instead of butter.
What’s a family tradition from your childhood? – On Christmas morning, my parents hide a pickle ornament in the tree that my sibling and I race to find. It’s really tiny and blends in super well, so it can take a while before either of us find it. Whoever sees it first gets an extra present!
