Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Community Engagement & Leadership (CEL) invites all OSU students, staff, faculty, and their children/dependents to join us on Saturday January 31, 2026, for our annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (register here!). This event is about coming together to honor Dr. King’s life and legacy and help advance his dream for peace by serving our neighbors and strengthening our ties through community service projects. These projects will occur at various times, all starting at different times throughout the day. Questions? Contact CEL (cel@oregonstate.edu).
Alternative Break
Seeking an adventurous, meaningful way to spend Spring Break? Consider Alternative Break in either San Francisco, Yakima, or Ashland! Groups of students immerse themselves in one of these communities to learn its historical, cultural, and political background and engage in service projects, conversations, presentations, and reflective dialogue with community leaders and change-makers. You’ll explore social issues, reflect on worldviews and assumptions, and learn to lead for social change, all while connecting with your peers! The initial signup deadline is Friday, January 23; check out the info below.

Mentorship Opportunity: OHSU Pay It Forward Program
Pay It Forward is a med student-run mentorship program at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) partnered with Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and OASIS (Outreach, Advising, Support and Identity Formation for Students). The goal is to create a more equitable workforce, increase cultural competence, and reduce health disparities. If you’re considering med school, this is a solid opportunity to connect with current med students; mentors can help guide to becoming a successful med school applicant. The deadline to apply is Saturday, February 7. Contact payitforward@ohsu.edu with questions.

NEW: Group Advising Sessions for New OSU Students
This term, we’re piloting optional, major-specific group advising sessions for new OSU students (i.e., only students who started at OSU in Summer 2025, Fall 2025, or Winter 2026). This is an opportunity for you to come prepared with advising questions and possible courses and to co-plan your Spring 2026 classes with COH advisors. For students who attend and craft a Spring 2026 plan, your advising registration hold will be lifted! Interested? Register via the intake form (in the section below):
