The Case For Recruitment and Selection

Organizations may use more of their resources in product design and marketing as opposed to using the same resources for doing a good job on employee recruitment and selection because good, hard-working employees are so hard to come by nowadays. Companies may dump a whole bunch of money into trying to find good hires and spend forever looking for the perfect candidate. In some cases they may end up spending more trying to find an hire people than they would on marketing and product design. Long term, spending that money on the marketing and design will get the company further in the way of sales and competition than trying to hire people would. Companies could also run into the issue of hiring the wrong person and then having to spend even more money to re-advertise the position and go through the hiring process again.

The downside however, to not using resources for recruitment is that at some point the system will crumble. Companies need to have good employees to keep the business running smoothly and effectively. Without a solid marketing manager for example, how would a company know what advertisements will work the best to attract customers? How would they know what product design people would be most likely to purchase? Strong employees are crucial to making a business successful as they are the foundation that holds everything together. The people that work for an organization are what get things moving and set ideas into motion. Employees are the ones that make sure that projects are being done correctly and finished on time. Companies with a high turnover rate or ones that are lacking employees in important positions, are only able to get so far on marketing and product design alone.
