Servings: 2
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 medium Gala apples
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread oats evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes until the oats turn golden and toasted. Once done, set them aside.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C).
- Rinse the apples and remove their cores, ensuring not to cut through the bottom. You can use an apple corer or a paring knife for this. Scoop out any remaining seeds with a spoon.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the toasted oats, sugar, cinnamon, yogurt, and melted butter. Spoon this mixture into the cavity of each apple.
- Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish and pour the water into the bottom of the dish.
- Bake the apples for 30 to 40 minutes until they are tender but not mushy.
- Once baked, top the apples with yogurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
- Serve and enjoy!
