Hello world!

It’s the capstone! I can’t wait to get started, meet my team, and create something meaningful. But first, let me take a moment to briefly introduce myself.

My name is Allen, and like many of my peers in the course, I entered this program as a post-bacc student in the middle of the pandemic. I was teaching ESL to adults at the time and loving it, thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to live and work abroad. However, as the pandemic slowed things down, I took that chance to reflect and ultimately decided to pivot and rekindle an old flame — computer science. Fast forward a couple of years and I’m now on the verge of earning my second degree!

As I consider my future post-graduation, I’m still very interested in language and would be thrilled to somehow land a role in a field where language and computer science meet such as natural language processing. The meteoric rise of transformers, machine translation, and AI voice technology since I started this program has been especially inspiring.

Anyway, congratulations everybody on making it this far to the final course. Let’s get to work!
