HR Management at Fortune 100 companies

Human Resource Management (HRM) is the backbone of any organization. It deals with the management of the workforce, which includes recruitment, selection, training, development, and retention of employees. In this blog, I will discuss how companies such as Hilton, American Express, and NVIDIA practice HRM and what kind of manager I’d like to be.

Hilton is one of the largest hospitality companies in the world. They are known for their excellent customer service and employee satisfaction. Hilton believes that their employees are their most valuable asset, and they strive to create a positive work environment for them. Hilton’s HRM practices include a robust training and development program, employee recognition and rewards, and a focus on diversity and inclusion. They also have a strong commitment to ethical practices, which is evident in their Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.

American Express is a financial services company that has been in business for over 150 years. They are known for their innovative products and services and their commitment to employee satisfaction. American Express’s HRM practices include a focus on diversity and inclusion, employee development and training, and a strong commitment to work-life balance. They also offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation to attract and retain top talent.

NVIDIA is a technology company that specializes in graphics processing units (GPUs). They are known for their cutting-edge technology and innovative products. NVIDIA’s HRM practices include a focus on employee development and training, a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a culture of innovation and collaboration. They also offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation to attract and retain top talent.

As a manager in the future, I would like to be the kind of person who values their employees and creates a positive work environment. Focusing on employee development and training, as well as diversity and inclusion. Also, I would like to create a culture of innovation and collaboration, where everyone’s ideas are valued and respected.

However, there are some challenges that come with being this kind of manager. For example, creating a positive work environment and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration can be challenging, especially in a fast-paced work environment. Additionally, it can be difficult to balance the needs of the company with the needs of the employees, especially when it comes to compensation and benefits.

In conclusion, HRM is a crucial component of any organization, and companies like Hilton, American Express, and NVIDIA, amongst many others, set the standard for excellence in HRM practices. As a manager, I would like to be the kind of person who values their employees, fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, and is committed to diversity and inclusion. While there are challenges associated with this type of management, the rewards of creating a positive work environment and attracting and retaining top talent is something that I believe is worth striving for, and I think all current, and future managers should have similar beliefs.
