I have taken and will continue to take antibiotics to treat any bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infections. This is because I have used them for ear infections and acne before. From these past experiences, antibiotics have not been damaging to me or had any adverse effects on my health. However, my doctor has advised me to follow the prescription precisely and finish them. I will use antibiotics only if prescribed to me from this experience. Antibiotics are used to treat common infections and are widely used for their effectiveness. My prior knowledge about antibiotics includes research on penicillin. The first antibiotic used and effective against gram-positive bacteria; furthermore, this antibiotic can have built resistance to it. From this knowledge, I also know that antibiotics should not be misused, or they would lose their effectiveness due to resistance. Resistance could cause further complications and trouble with overcoming the infection.
