Who Am I?
I think that honesty is something that is really important to me and as such, that is something that I always try to convey with my interviews. This can sometimes come across as self-deprecation but I think that it is better to be turned down in the interview process than to disappoint someone with my work. My personal brand is that I am honest, I will give any work that I am assigned a good and far shot, and that I am always looking for ways to continually improve myself. When people ask me what my weakness is I generally say one of two things the first is “my lack of knowledge about the given industry”. If I do in fact know about the industry then I say “I can get overheld easily if I don’t have someone I can go to for questions”. Sadly I do not really think that I am someone who is all that unique and as such I offer the idea of shaping me into the employee that they want.
We don’t need ‘RockStars’
The information above can be really hard to display to people in general but I have found an ok way to convey this information to others on a job posting. The first and the easiest is that I include some simple stories and information in the cover letter to give hints at the above. However, outside of trying stories in your cover letter, I feel that the type of brand that I am trying to sell is that I am a general person, and not every team Jordan Belfort sometimes you need Phil from HR who comes in works the 8:40 to 5:30 gets along with most people and makes sure that the work is always done on time and up to quality.
