My Capstone Project.

My project is better than I thought it would be. Originally I wanted to use AI more in generating exercises responses from the initial survey that uses an algorithm to generate exercises. When I was at the gym, I started to realize the problems that would arise from a exercise app that generates exercises for the user to do. When I go to the gym I have exercises that I want to do. Sometimes I have to alter my routine because of the availability of equipment at the gym. The user must be able to create exercises that they know they could do. I also thought it was important for the app to generate popular exercises from the survey. I kept the algorithm simple and the exercises generated similar to exercises that I see people do at the gym. The app generates exercises in categories which is great for starting out. The user could use this exercise generation to give them ideas on creating their own cards. During their workouts they could edit cards so that comparable exercises are on the same card. For example the workout card with “Shoulder Presses” could be edited to “Shoulder Presses-Free Weights-or- Machine.” If the free weight room is busy, they could do the machine version and submit notes saying the exercise they did. Keeping track of progress is important. When the user completes an exercise, writes notes, and submits it as done, it could give a sense of accomplishment. Some people change their workouts to bulk up, slim down, and/or gain strength. For now, the easiest way for the user not to clutter up their screen with exercises was to allow them to create multiple accounts with just their email. Each account could be the routine they are on. I also realized some people do almost the same exercises on various days so I designed the ability for the user to group exercises on one card that they could choose to do exercises from. This allows the user to do their planned workout and if they have time to add an exercise or two at the end. While designing this app, I have thought of several ideas to make the app better and add to my learning. I enjoyed planning, designing, testing, fixing, redesigning, and seeing the parts of the app work together the way I thought they could.
