A very good week

“Why was her week so good?” you may ask. I’m quarantined for COVID! That doesn’t sound like a good week, does it?

Au contraire, being forced to stay home has been really good for me. Bear in mind that I showed up to work on Christmas Eve only to find the doors locked and no way inside, because who in their right mind would come to work on Christmas Eve? I love my job, to the extent that it’s difficult to balance it with school work, self-care, and all the other things in a woman’s life.

This week has been a fantastic balance of everything. My coworkers still send me questions, updates, and small things to do, so I get my fix of drone work. I’ve been given the time to get a solid start on my team’s capstone project, and am up to date on my other classwork. I’ve had the time to exercise, bake (I made homemade cinnamon rolls with coffee icing today), read, and cook, all things I typically only find time to do meaningfully on weekends and holidays. I also applied to a couple dozen jobs, and have made a spreadsheet to track the process.

So, yeah, I had a pretty great week.
