I am an environmental geochemist collaborating with ecologists, geographers, social scientists, epidemiologists, computer scientists, and communities to reduce levels of environmental contaminants that threaten human and ecosystem health. This includes leading research to understand distributions and identify sources of contaminants at global to local scales using environmental archives such as ice, sediments, and moss. Projects are based in Greenland, Spain, Alaska, and urban centers such as Portland, Oregon.
