Every year, the Green Sports Alliance hosts a Summit for the sports community to unite around sustainability. This year, they’re doing something new–an upcycled fashion show! This is a unique competition geared toward students enrolled in programs related to design and fashion.

This will be the first ever Sustainable Streetwear & Athleisure Fashion Show at the 2016 Green Sports Alliance Summit in Houston, Texas on June 29, 2016.

Participants are asked to create cutting-edge streetwear & athleisure designs and ready to wear products made out of fabrics produced with recycled material.  Designs will be showcased by models at the Green Sports Alliance’s Green Sports Celebration on June 29, 2016 at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. Winners of the competition will be selected by event attendees.

Participation will be limited to the first 30 entries, and entries can be submitted here.  The deadline to sign up is March 11th.

Benefits of student participants include:

  • Practice your design skills for the growing streetwear & athleisure trend using sustainable materials.
  • Showcase your talent in front of 400+ sports industry representatives.
  • Be in the running to have your designs featured in your campus bookstore.
  • Your design will be added to Renew Merchandise line of products and presented to the fashion world. Students will gain invaluable experience on how product is brought to market.

Don’t have design skills but are still interested in attending? You can register for the Summit here.
