Key Core Values To Better HR Management

Hello! Welcome to this post on tips on how to be a better manager and define your organizations core values for better employee satisfaction and effectiveness.

After reading some of the “Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work for in 2020”, I noticed some of the feedback was similar. Many of the employees feedback reflected the companies core values. Core values are critical in defining the culture of the organization and if it would be a good fit for future employees. It engages how the organization makes the employees feel and why they like working for the company. While also aligning HR plans, company culture, and the work environment, these principles are created from the core of the company. Does your company value your efforts, care, show support, have diversity, and is engaging, and encourage your personal growth as an employee? All of these components should be core values for a company to incorporate to make sure you love your job and feel genuinely cared for. For most employees, it is important that HR values and cares about their employees health, safety, life outside of work, uniqueness and family. One employee from Hilton, commented that Hilton cares about their employees. Making sure employees feel like they can work as a team helps the organization’s efficiency and productivity as a whole, and creates a welcoming work space. Employees may enjoy good pay and benefits in rewards to their hard work, efforts, and time because they deserve it! When companies treat their employees well, it shows and creates long term employment. Also, many employees like the principles of the organization that create room to grow within that company. One employee from Cisco wrote that he loves working for this company because there is diversity in executive leadership and a strong support system. These are all important components to consider in HR management and becoming a better manager. I would like to be a manager that makes each employee feel heard, supported, safe, unique, and valued by being able to reward them. Challenges a manager may face could include hiring and retaining talented, qualified people for the job. Also, meeting the needs of a diverse range of personalities and individuals.
