The last role I applied for was an internship to work with multiple Oregon State University Athletics departments. The application process was quite simple. I had to fill out a form to show my interest and upload my resume. It was an exciting process that I will probably never have the opportunity or fortune to be in again as I had good relationships with all employers/ interviewees. Once having submitted my resume, I waited about two weeks before hearing back from the employers. We set up an interview time, which I was really nervous about as I am still working out how best to portray my best qualities without coming across as vain or self centred. So when it comes to interviewing I feel a lot of pressure to be able to present myself in the best way. This alongside having an accent can be quite anxiety inducing due to sometimes being misunderstood and having to think more in depth about the words I am using in my response. The interview was quite informal which I think allowed me to settle into the questions and give some really good answers, that helped the interviewees a better more well rounded picture of myself and aspirations. At the end of the interview I was informed that they had some more interviews to conduct and that I should expect to hear from them within the next two weeks about whether I had been successful or not. I heard back within a week to be told I had been successful and that I would be working in the two fields that I had chosen as my first and second choices. Overall the process was quite simple and in many ways quite enjoyable.
