Looking for a job can often be quite challenging as there are many factors that unemployed people face. What will my hours look like? How is the pay? Will I enjoy working here? These are the questions people ask themselves as they apply for jobs and sustain themselves for the long run. Fortunately enough, Fortune 100 provided the top 100 companies to work for and employees gave their insight on what it is like to work for these companies. 

Hilton

Starting with the top-rated company, Hilton is one of the country’s most recognized hotels and serves many great careers in the hospitality industry. According to Fortune 100, the Hilton has won numerous awards for providing jobs for women, parents, and millennials since 2018. The three big ideas Hilton employees say about their time in the workplace is that it is very much a team and family environment, and they make everyone welcome once they step foot into an establishment. As someone who has stayed at a Hilton before, I can honestly see these values in each employee and have nothing bad to say for this company.

American Express

Moving down the list to the second highest ranked financial company is American Express which is known to sponsor multiple athletes and gove people’s status due to their “black cards”. Personally, I have never used an American Express card but the people I do know, mention how companies who use this card give employees amazing benefits. Based on a bar chart from Fortune 100, 94% of employees would work at American Express over any financial firm which shows how highly ranked the company is. A big reason to work for American Express, according to employees, is to become more in touch with people, meet new colleagues, and as mentioned earlier, reap good benefits, so if these are things you seek in a job, American Express might be the place for you.

The Cheesecake Factory

The last company to discuss and perhaps one of the most well-known upscale casual restaurants in the world is The Cheesecake Factory. Funny enough, my most recent job was as a host for the Cheesecake Factory and what I can say is the main reason I came to the job was due to its amazing company culture and getting the chance to work with a great group of people every day. The Cheesecake Factory emphasizes guest satisfaction and makes sure people feel at home in the restaurant, so again, if you like people and enjoy trying new foods, The Cheesecake Factory is where you will want to be.

What kind of manager would I be?

Each of these companies are in their own industries so what managing at one place will look like is completely different from the other, however, one thing they do share is being the most professioanlly of all the employees and that is the kind of manager I would be; professional but have enough perosnality to make employees like working for me as well as appearing understanding with guests. As I mentioned, working at The Cheesecake Factory gave me insight as to how a manager should act, whether a problem be big or smal and how one must keep a stable head to take action accordingly.
